Maxine "Coupie" Huite, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:13 P.M., Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Coupie was a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and was an election judge.
She was born May 31, 1926 at Tamaroa, the daughter of Chris and Rachel Mae (Rice) Galbraith.
She married Edward Huite on December 20, 1949 at Paragould, Arkansas and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, one daughter - Sandra McCune and husband Jack of Du Quoin, one son - Stephen Huite and wife Regina of Du Quoin, one grandson - Joshua McCune and one granddaughter - Sabra Lee Ann McCune, both of Du Quoin, one brother - Larry Galbraith of Tamaroa, one sister - Lola Mae Askew of Tamaroa, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son - David Charles Huite, one sister - Pauline Davis and one brother - Richard Galbraith.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. John Somers officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
